HADFIELD CONSTRUCTION NEARS COMPLETION ON UVU’S NEW CENTER FOR CONSTITUTIONAL STUDIES

Hadfield Construction is wrapping up work on a new 9,297 square foot Center for Constitutional Studies at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The project involved the reconstruction and expansion of an existing campus building to create a dedicated home for UVU’s growing constitutional studies program.

The facility includes modern classrooms, offices, conference rooms, and a kitchen and banquet area for academic and community events. It’s designed to serve students, faculty, K-12 educators, and visitors who engage with the center’s programs.

“Working with Hadfield Construction has been a genuinely easy experience. They’re great problem-solvers, and their communication and responsiveness throughout the project have been excellent. They’ve made this process much smoother than it could have been,” said Chad Bellon, Architectural Project Manager at Utah Valley University, who has been involved in the project’s success from start to finish.

Founded in 2011, the Center for Constitutional Studies is a nonpartisan institute that has grown well beyond its original footprint. It now offers an undergraduate minor, a master’s program in Constitutional Government, Civics and Law, and a K-12 outreach initiative that reaches tens of thousands of Utah students each year. The center also partners with the University of Oxford on the Quill Project, a digital platform that models constitutional convention proceedings. In 2024, the program received a $350,000 National Archives grant to help expand that partnership.

Jade Hadfield, President of Hadfield Construction, commented on the significance of the building for UVU and its program. “This project has been a great opportunity to work alongside UVU on something that will have a real impact on campus and the broader community. We’re proud of what the team has built together.”

The final inspection walkthrough is scheduled for May 1, 2026. The building is expected to be move-in ready by August 2026, with a ribbon cutting planned before the start of the fall semester.
